Independent Bookstore Day 2020: 3 Books I Ordered from Nowhere Bookshop in Celebration!

I fell in love with a bookshop from afar.

When I learned on Instagram that Jenny Lawson was opening Nowhere Bookshop, I, like most anyone who knows who she is, was thrilled. I don’t live anywhere near Texas. I will probably never see her bookshop in person. But I can support her, and what better time to do that than Independent Bookstore Day?

So, to honor independent bookstores everywhere, I have just purchased three books from Nowhere Bookshop, and I. Am. So. Excited. for them to arrive!

3 Books I Ordered to Celebrate Independent Bookstore Day 2020

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith

I have two copies of this already… BUT they’re antiques! It’s long past time I owned a copy I could read over and over without being afraid of damaging it.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is the book most requested by American soldiers overseas during World War I, and it was a favorite for good reason. If you haven’t read it yet… Now you know better.

The Ghost Stories of Edith Wharton by Edith Wharton via Virago Modern Classics

Ahhh, Edith… I’ve never owned any of your works, and it’s time I got around to these stories. Fall is just around the corner, after all, and it just feels like the right timing. Really looking forward to this!

My Man Jeeves by P. G. Wodehouse

My brother has been after me for years to read P. G. Wodehouse… So I’ve just ordered the first Jeeves & Wooster book, and I’m almost giddy about it.
